Paintings
I usually paint in acrylics on either canvas or canvas board. I like how bright the colours are and how the paints dry relatively quickly so I can layer them up easily to create as much depth or details as I want - or so I can paint over the areas that really didn’t go according to plan!
My aim is to capture the character and mood of the dogs - whether it is poise and stillness, or mayhem about to be unleashed as though the dog is about to launch itself through the canvas. I work from photos and select images that grab my imagination and make me want to capture that feeling - often something that makes me smile or stop and look again.
